I feel kinda stupid coming on here today, considering everyone out there is probably thinking and feeling the same way I am. I'm currently 14, and I am going through so many changes right now, I feel like my head will explode. I always lay awake at night, thinking to my self, "Mom, are you out there? Dad, do you know I exist?"

I love my family 'cause they love and support me, but sometimes, you feel like you should have more. I want to be able to really relate to my family, but I can't always do so. We are so different from one another. I really want to find my birth family. I want to say "thank you," ... "I've loved you from the start," and to see if I can relate to them.

Last night, I was sitting at home talking to my dog. I was thinking about you, Mom, and I was thinking about you, too, Dad. I started crying. I seem to do that a lot when I think of you. Do you know my name? Do you know that I'm a healthy happy teen; that I've never forgotten about you, I've never wanted to? Hm, its kinda funny, isn't it? I mean, adoptees all over the world think this way, I'm sure of it. Although I don't really know, I'm sure of it. Mom and Dad, if you read this, which I doubt, but I hope you will, this is my letter to you.

Dear Mom/Dad, 14 years ago in the cold month of November you made me. Mom, 14 years ago, you birthed me. I love you both, unconditionally, and always. I am tall and healthy, and I am loved. I am a bright student in high school, and I always try my best. I have a love of literature, reading at any and all times. I have a little dog, who is my best friend, and I have many, many friends who I love.

Wow, Mom, when I think of you I see a nameless face, because I don't know who you are. But I see laughter in your eyes, a smile on your face, and a warm sensitive heart.

Dad, when I think of you, I think of aftershave, of big strong hugs, of love and joy on your face. When or if you think of me, know that I laugh, that I cry, that I smile. Know, that I am a happy girl; a mature one, who thinks seriously about (her) life, and yours. I have a big sister, who isn't really like me at all, but I love her, because of it.

I have two loving, kind parents, who never kept anything about you from me. Someday, you'll know me, because even though you had to give me up, I'm not going to give up on you. You are out there somewhere, maybe thinking about me this very minute.

I love you so very much. Thanks, Mom, for loving me enough to give me up. - Your birth daughter.
