My name is Beverly A. Dixon and I am proudly writing with great enthusiasm about the Spring 2001 music group that I have formed and still manage which consists of four of my five girls whom are all adopted! The group features biological sisters Tamika (14 y.o.), Nichelle (13 y.o.) and biological sisters Sierra (12 y.o.) and Raina (9 y.o.). The chosen original music styles that Tamika and I write are R&B, Inspirational, Rap (lite) and Native-American. The girls have performed at Raina and Sierra's adoption, a local health fair and a few schools. As of 2002, they have also become active in their community, by volunteering bi-monthly at our neighborhood local church's Food Pantry.

Our story has contained its share of bumpy roads. But, it can also be possibly seen in the future as an inspirational story of how music was the one common ground that helped us all to become one family. The name of the girls group is AZURITE BUTTERFLY, which is based on my Native-American "astrology". The girls can best be described as youthful, fun, attractive, fashionable and above all very talented. If you are interested in learning more, please e-mail me at azurite_butterfly@juno.com. The girls musical inspirations are: Nelly, JaRule, Alicia K., Erykah Badu, Musiq, Sean Paul, Yolanda Adams, Lauryn Hill, Tweet, Truth Hurts, Mary Mary, Craig David, Usher, Mary J. and Mariah. They have personally chosen as their goal to single-handedly raise the awareness of adoption through trying to maintain a positive spirit in their strength and song. Please help me to promote them and the positive messages that they behold in adoption, family and as young women of the United States future.
