If you think that you or somebody you know may have an eating disorder, get help! Don't wait and don't try to deal with the problem by yourself. Talk to a parent or other trusted adult like a counselor, coach, relative, or teacher.

Confronting someone who has an eating disorder is very hard. Your friend may not want to admit she has a problem and may get angry with you for trying to help. If you think a friend has an eating disorder, let her know that you care about her, you're worried, and you want to help. Urge her to tell a trusted adult about her eating disorder. If she won't do it, you need to talk to an adult yourself. She needs as much support and understanding from the people in her life as possible. Reaching out to get help could save your friend's life.
