In the dark I heard your heart
But I never knew your name
I learned you gave me up at birth

& when I wondered why you'd left
Why you refused to stay
They said you couldn't care for me

Or regret we lived apart?
I thought of you & kept you warm
In a pocket of my heart.

Through years we could'nt save
And felt my love shine through my tears
While standing at your grave.

For those of us birth mothers that have the blessing of having openness in our triads, lets show our children our love & face before it is to late like it was for this adoptee. My heart bleeds for her & her birth mother.
