What is the service?

Adoption Placement Services. The OCS Adoption Program seeks adoptive home placement of children who are in the Department of Social Services custody and are legally free for adoption. Services include the assessment of families who apply to adopt, matching available children with available homes, preparing children for placement, and services to the adoptive children and families before, during and after placement is made.

Who can receive the services?

Children who are in the Department of Social Services custody and are legally free for adoption. Most children in the program come to the program from either family servicesor foster care. Voluntary surrenders are accepted from parents after the provision of counseling services.

How does one access the service?

One can access the service by contacting the local regional office of the Office of Community Services of Community Services.
