Mother and Daughter Reunite
About 5 years ago, a co-worker (now best friend) shared with me that she had been adopted and that she had hoped before she died she would be able to locate her biological mother. I had told her that there were many websites available to her where she could post her information and also look up information on parents and children searching for one another. I invited her to my home and one afternoon we posted a search for her biological mother on a website. She said that she had called the number that she had left which was her adoptive mother's and that they spoke and her adoptive mother confirmed that this was in fact my friend's biological mother. She called my friend Nicki and gave her the phone number to her biological mother. Nicki contacted her (biological mother) who was thrilled to hear from her. They immediately exchanged pictures and found out how much they looked alike. They had both colored their hair the same red color. In fact, they are so much alike her biological mom's dog is named Nicki.
They are both very close and visit one another often. Her biological father is not ready to enter into the picture, and unfortunately her biological mom's husband, who had helped his wife put the post on the website died shortly after seeing his wife reunited with her daughter.
Nicki just found out that her biological mother has breast cancer. We are not sure where the story will end; however, her biological mother says she has the best reason in the world to fight to live. Her daughter.
