I was on my computer one morning and received an e-mail saying they thought I was the daughter given up for adoption. At 1st I was curious, but cautious. I read through it a # of times. Finally I replied and asked a few questions, which I knew the answers already.

After I sent my e-mail, I reread the one I had. Then I realized, they had the attorneys 1st name, I never knew it, and my adoptive parents could not recall it. When I spoke with my adoptive mother about it, I asked her if Max was the name of the Atty, and she started crying!!

She then said I have found my birth mother. I grew up with the following information:
1 My mother was not married, my birth father was.
2 My birth father had dark hair and worked as an engineer at Kennedy
space center.
3 My birth mother had red hair and was a school teacher.
4 My birth mother was living with her sister during the pregnancy.
5 I knew the name of the firm and which atty I had, but mom could never recall his
1st name.

Above are some of the questions I asked, in my e-mail to them. The response (briefly) to them were:
1- My mother was not married, my father was in the military and going through a divorce.
2- My birth father did have dark hair, but it was her sisters husband who was the engineer at Kennedy space center.
3- My birth mother did not have red hair, but a friend of hers that would come and visit while she was in the hospital did.
4- Yes, my birth mother was living with her sister, parents did not approve of her being pregnant (this was 40 years ago)
5- They had the 1st name of the atty.

Of course there is a lot more.

Turns out, my birth mother and father got married after I was put up for adoption, and I also have a "full-blooded" sister who is 2 years younger than me and looked a lot like me growing up. She was told early on that she had an older sister somewhere.

My birth dad was working on some genealogy information for his side of the family. He said he cannot recall how he got to my posting about looking for my birth mother, but he knew when he saw it. He printed it and now has it in a nice frame. It was from my post of "Finding In Florida".

I have met them all, and turns out, every time she went for her family reunion in Florida, they would try to find out information on me.

It is amazing to me how I can have so many personality similarities to my birth mother and my birth father and never grew up with them. Jim says I laugh just like Dot. I can see me in each one of them, physically and personality wise. I guess genetics goes further than just physical characteristics.

Any way, they are great! They live 6 hrs from me. Of course there is more to the story than that, but I need to get ready for work. It's nice to have roots and to see how I will age over the years!!
