My Poem to Jordan

My precious little baby,
I watch you as you sleep
I'm saddened by just knowing
that you're not mine to keep.

On loan to me from God above
for such a little time
I'll hold you close,next to my heart
for the while that you are mine.

I wonder what you'll look like
when youre two or three.
You might look like your grandma
or maybe just like me.

I wonder what you'll sound like,
What's the first words that you'll say
I'll pray for God's special plan for you at night
when I kneel to pray.

I'll pray for peace only God can give
& on that special day
He will gently remind me
that I'm not just giving you away.

The love I have for you exceeds
all I've ever known
& now I must choose a life for you
that's different from my own.

You'll have the very best of life
that this world can provide.
A loving mommy & daddy
will be there by your side.

I hope & pray someday in time
you'll look back & know
That only God could grant the love
that lets me let you go.
