Obtaining Non-Identifying Information:
Adopted adults age 21 or older and adoptive parents may obtain non-identifying information.
Obtaining Identifying Information:
Adopted adults age 21 or older may receive information regarding the birth parents if the birth parents consent to the release of this information. Birth parents may receive information on adopted adult age 21 or older if the adopted adult has signed a consent form releasing this information. If consent has not been filed, an agency may contact the birth parents or adopted adult for consent.
Obtaining an Original Birth Certificate:
An adoptee must petition the court in which the adoption was finalized.
