Through its Adoptive Parent Leadership Network, NACAC conducts training for parent groups on a variety of topics, publishes articles and fact sheets for group leaders, pairs group leaders in mentoring program, starts new parent groups across the United States, and otherwise aids adoptive and foster parent group leaders.
If you would like to start a parent group or would like to discuss your group's needs and our services, please send an e-mail to info@nacac.org or call us 651-644-3036. If you would like to join NACAC's e-mail list serv for parent group leaders, click on http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/nacac-parentgroups. Through this service, you can exchange messages with other parent group leaders and our staff.
NACAC's Adoptive Parent Leadership Network is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Children's Bureau. HHS also funded a network for groups that serve kinship care providers (KinNET) and another for foster parent groups (FosterParentNet). HHS also funds support of adoptive parent groups through AdoptUSKids, which is currently offering mini-grants to parent groups.
