Biography

Author Betsy Buckley adopted her son Michael in 1995 from Guatemala. Two years later, she and her husband adopted a girl from Guatemala who they named Christie. Prior to staying at home to be with the children and to do writing, she was an Art Director for a Fortune 500 company in St. Louis, where she and her family continue to live. "The Greatest Gift" began as the ultimate baby book," she says. "I wanted to remember in vivid detail the experiences and the feelings of adopting." Today, she spends much of her time touring and promoting her new book, while volunteering her time as secretary for International Families, an adoption support group in her hometown. Her favorite job, however, continues to be playing with her children who are now in 1st grade and pre-school, and loving them with all of her heart.
