Jeff Murrah, author of Parenting in the Trenches, is a mental health and substance abuse counselor in Pasadena, Texas, with twenty-one years' experience. He has a second office in La Porte, Texas. He has been in private practice since 1994, and has worked in various hospital settings since 1981. Jeff taught psychology courses at San Jacinto Junior College for six years. He conducts workshops, parenting classes and contributes a bi-weekly parenting column to the Pasadena Citizen. Jeff's specialty areas are depression, addictions, marital and family issues. He also works with children and adolescents. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Certified Medical Psychotherapist, and a Certified Case Manager. Jeff and his wife, Peggy, have been married for sixteen years, and have three incredible sons. Jeff, a sixth-generation Texan, is an avid student of the War of Northern Aggression. He has researched and recently completed a manuscript on Terry's Texas Rangers (Eighth Texas Calvary, CSA).
