Choose Life

This is in praise of two women; separated by four decades, but with much in common.

Each faced the fear and uncertainty of a pregnancy she had not planned.

One I never met.

One I am proud to call a friend.

The older woman faced her decision at a time when abortion was not legal, but was not unheard of. The cousin of a friend could recommend someone in the city.

The younger woman could have chosen to legally end the life inside her, with the blessings of many, and protected by the government. It was never an option.

Both chose LIFE.

One gave birth to my husband.

One gave birth to my son.
